Collin Morikawa has endured a tremendously difficult 2025 season on the PGA Tour.
After Morikawa just missed out on winning the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March, he has just two top-10 finishes to his name on the PGA Tour.
Morikawa’s form is so bad that he’s in danger of missing out on the Ryder Cup team, and that tells us all we need to know about where he’s at right now.
The 28-year-old seems to be completely lost with his game in general, while his struggles on the greens continue to undermine his chances of putting together a good run of results.
Missing the cut at Royal Portrush in July marked a new low for the two-time major champion.
Morikawa worked incredibly hard on his game at The Open, but to no avail.
So what next for the six-time PGA Tour winner?
Collin Morikawa ‘not to be in a good spot’ after what happened at The Open
The man from Los Angeles, California, is an absolute shadow of his former self at the moment.
He’s working his tail off to try and improve, but the results are just not there.

Golf journalist Joseph LaMagna noticed something very concerning about Morikawa on the range at Portrush.
When speaking on The Fried Egg Podcast, LaMagna suggested that the 28-year-old is not in a good spot right now.
He said: “His Open Championship record is kind of ridiculous now. Win, missed cut, missed cut, T-16, missed cut. It’s kind of crazy.
“I will say, one of the biggest scenes I will remember from this season is watching him struggle on the range at Royal Portrush after his first round. It is one of the biggest struggle sessions I have seen from a professional golfer.
“Collin looks like he’s not in a good spot right now.“
The reason Collin Morikawa is struggling so badly is obvious to see
A lot of Morikawa’s game has actually been very good this season.
His driving and iron play, while not at his peak levels, have been very solid indeed.
However, one club continues to let him down time and time again.
| Stats | Morikawa’s rank |
| Strokes gained off the tee | 10th |
| Strokes gained approach | 5th |
| Strokes gained around the greens | 86th |
| Strokes gained putting | 129th |
| Strokes gained total | 7th |
Morikawa’s putting has been quite frankly abysmal this season.
If he is to ever rediscover his best form, he absolutely has to improve on the greens.
