Gary Player continues to play the sport he loves at the age of 89, albeit at a slightly lower level than he once did.
Legendary figure Player is a nine-time major champion, and is one of only six golfers to complete the career grand slam.
Rory McIlroy joined that list at The Masters earlier this year, with Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods having also achieved the superb feat.
The South African veteran represents the first non-American to complete the career grand slam, one of his many stunning accomplishments.
Player is also a 24-time PGA Tour winner, and has retained a keen interest in the sport despite his retirement long ago.

The score Gary Player shot during a round of golf with Charles Barkley last week
Tommy Fleetwood was congratulated by Player after winning the Tour Championship last month, while the latter experienced a similarly enjoyable time on the course shortly after, according to Charles Barkley.
Speaking on The Smylie Show, the basketball legend said: “I played with the great Gary Player last week. He has been a great friend.

“He has become a friend the last two or three years. What a great man. He is turning 90 in the next week or so and he hit every fairway.
“It was amazing to watch. He gave me a bunker lesson and a chipping lesson. He is just a wonderful person.”

And revealing the score Player shot, Barkley said: “I think he shot even par. He is hitting it 245, 250 down the middle every time. He is probably 245, I’m not even joking.
“They make these woods so good now, he is hitting a wood and they would land like a butterfly with soft feet.
“He does hit woods into the par fours but I don’t think he’s playing the senior tees, he’s playing the white tees. His grandson plays and I think he beat his grandson. It was incredible.”
What was Gary Player’s record on the PGA Tour?
Player’s phenomenal PGA Tour winning career started back in 1968, when he triumphed at the Kentucky Derby Open.
His 24th and final victory arrived 20 years later at the Houston Open, with a third success at The Masters also secured that year.

And fortunately for golf fans Player remains active, and clearly hasn’t lost his superb ability on the course given his latest round.
