The Tour Championship is over and now, for many golfers, their full focus is on the impending Ryder Cup. But, will Cameron Young be involved or will he get overlooked by Keegan Bradley?
Obviously, the big story of the weekend is the fact that Tommy Fleetwood secured his first win on the Tour, but Cameron Young wasn’t far away from the top spot.
A final round of -4 had Young ending up on 14-under overall and finishing T4 with Scottie Scheffler and Corey Conners. That netted Young a cool $2.6m in prize money, and will also have given Keegan Bradley even more to think about when it comes to his Ryder Cup team.
While the Team Europe roster is all-but confirmed, Team USA’s 12-man squad is very much up in the air, and there’s every chance Young makes the cut.

Cameron Young thinks he’s done all he can to earn Ryder Cup call
Young is in 14th place in the Ryder Cup rankings for the USA, but with Bradley still unsure whether to pick himself, there’s definitely room for someone like Young.
Speaking after his final round at East Lake, Young was asked how he feels about the Ryder Cup and whether he deserves a spot in the team.
He replied: “Obviously I have no idea when I will get that call, and I have no idea what it will say. I mean, mainly, like you said, I’m just waiting around for that.
“I’m very excited to get home. I haven’t really been home more than a week since April probably. I’m just looking forward to getting home to Florida.
“Either way, obviously I really, really want to make that team. If that call goes the wrong way in my opinion, it’s going to be a bit of a hard one to take. I feel like I’ve done everything you could ask of me to make that team over the last four weeks, and then if you look back further, really half a season.”
Clearly, Young is backing himself to make the cut, but the likes of Patrick Cantlay, Brian Harman, and Wyndham Clark will have plenty to say about that.

Cameron Young frustrated after Tour Championship
Young has every reason to be happy with his showing at the Tour Championship. He was 3-under on day one, before shooting the best round of day two with a 62. Saturday’s round of 71 ultimately cost Young and gave him too much to do on the final day.
Discussing his performance, Young admitted he was frustrated to end up behind the leading pack, but insisted he did everything he could on the course.
Young said: “All in all, really solid. I feel like I left so much out there the last two days. It’s a bit frustrating to come up four short. I just feel like that was there for the taking this week, and I just didn’t get the ball in the hole as well as I have been.”
