Cameron Smith has claimed one thing about Sentosa Golf Club is better than any of LIV Golf’s 2024 venues.
LIV Golf returned to Singapore on Friday in the second of two quickfire events after last week’s tournament at The Grange in Adelaide. It was a triumphant homecoming for Smith, who saw his Ripper GC win the team event in LIV’s first-ever team playoff.
At Sentosa, Smith opened with a level par 71 on Friday and sits six shots back of leader Sebastian Munoz. Further notable names in the hunt include Brooks Koepka and Joaquin Niemann.
The Aussie will require a low round on Saturday to put himself firmly in contention ahead of the final 18 holes.
Cameron Smith wowed by one thing he’s noticed at Sentosa Golf Club

Sentosa, unsurprisingly, is in immaculate condition this week. Singapore is known for its lavish lifestyle, impressive shopping malls and remarkable architecture.
The event organisers were never going to leave any stone unturned ahead of LIV’s arrival into the city.
Sentosa Golf Club is located on the Southernmost Point of Continental Asia and overlooks the Singapore Straight.
Smith has been particularly impressed with the greens and has even suggested they’re the best he will putt on all season.
He explained: “I don’t mind the heat; the humidity is a little bit much, but I love Singapore, and I love this golf course. It’s definitely up the top of what we’re playing this year. I think the greens we putt on this week are probably the best greens we putt on all year.”
Eye-catching stop on LIV Golf’s world tour
Singapore is certainly one of the most eye-catching stops on LIV’s world tour and has been conveniently placed immediately after the popular Adelaide event.
With attention firmly on the breakaway tour, Greg Norman and the marketing team could be looking to capitalise on the added viewership.
For Smith, the Southeast Asia stop is a chance for him to play himself into some form ahead of the year’s second major championship.
In 2024, Smith’s best finish was in Hong Kong, where he placed third. In fact, the Aussie is waiting for his first victory since August 2023, when he won at Bedminster.
A top-ten finish this week will be the ideal preparation for the PGA Championship at Valhalla in the middle of May.
