Caitlin Clark has taken the basketball world by storm in recent years, but she has been keeping close tabs on the US Open at Oakmont.

The Indiana Fever star is an avid golfer, with Clark having played with Nelly Korda at The ANNIKA Pro-Am last year.

That represents one of her ventures on the LPGA Tour, with its star figure Korda among Clark’s dream golfing group.

It is, however, the PGA Tour that is stealing the headlines at this moment in time, with the US Open in its closing stages.

Oakmont is once again hosting the major championship, having last played host to the US Open in 2016, when Dustin Johnson won with a score of four-under.

Michael Kim offers insight into US Open difficulty after Caitlin Clark question

Fortunately a very recent US Open player was on hand to provide an honest answer to a question that many fans would have wanted to know.

Michael Kim, who ended his four rounds on 14-over, responded on X: “Promise you it’s not ‘fun’,” before adding: “But still worth playing.”

Kim, a one-time champion on the PGA Tour, carded rounds of 75, 71, 76, 72 at the tricky Pennsylvania course.

The American also made the cuts at The Masters and the PGA Championship this year, finishing T27 and T55 respectively.

Oakmont provided a very difficult challenge for even the winners of those majors, with Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler having tournaments to forget for their very high standards.

Masters champion McIlroy finished on seven-over at Oakmont, with PGA Championship winner Scheffler ending his four rounds on four-over.
