Phil Mickelson worked with legendary coach Butch Harmon for eight years from 2007-2015.

That spell with Butch Harmon yielded two major Championships for Phil Mickelson – the 2010 Masters and the 2013 Open Championship.

The American’s legendary status in the game took somewhat of a hit when he left the PGA Tour back in 2022 to join the LIV Golf tour.

However, Phil Mickelson has continued to beat the drum that LIV is the tour of the future.

Due to Mickelson’s three Masters victories, he will keep coming back to play at Augusta until the day he decides to hang up his clubs.

And Harmon shared a wonderful story about Phil during Friday’s third round at Augusta.

Butch Harmon shares what Phil Mickelson did to him at The Masters in 2010

Mickelson was in imperious form around Augusta National 15 years ago.

He hit one of the most famous shots of all-time on the 13th hole during the final round on his way to his third green jacket.

And after his victory, Mickelson did something very special for Butch.

Harmon was speaking during commentary on Sky Sports, and he shared a fantastic story about Phil:

“He did something really nice for me, when he won his last one. We were working together, and he had me going to Butler Cabin with him, for the jacket presentation. I mean, I’ve stayed in Butler Cabin before, but I’d never been invited to do it by all the guys I’ve had win The Masters. That was pretty nice, I’ve never forgot that.”

Form is temporary, but class is permanent, as they say.

How much is Phil Mickelson worth after staggering golfing career?

There are varying estimates regarding this question, as nobody knows the exact figure he received to join LIV (believed to be around $200 million).

However, the most common estimate of Phil Mickelson’s net worth is around $400 million (Golf Monthly).

Most of the money the 54-year-old has earned has come through off the course endorsements.

However, he is the third on the PGA Tour career money list, behind only Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

Phil Mickelson is a real legend of the game, and as Butch Harmon insinuated, he’s a genuinely nice man off the course as well.
