LIV Golf star Bryson DeChambeau has revealed that he is hoping to embark on yet another golfing project.

Since quitting the PGA Tour and moving to the PIF-backed venture, DeChambeau has become one of the biggest influencers in golf, largely thanks to his booming YouTube channel.

DeChambeau is not profiting financially from his channel and insists the purpose of his social media crusade is to grow the game. Now, the 31-year-old has revealed that he is looking to offer golfing opportunities in countries where courses and facilities are not readily available.

While appearing on The Joe Pomp Show, DeChambeau was asked about his long-term vision for his LIV Golf team, Crushers GC. The American’s answer went off in a slightly different direction, however.

“I think the more interesting thing for me is creating academies and golf courses. How cool would it be to have academies across the globe? In the Philippines and India. Places where you could make it economically more viable and affordable. I am working with an equipment company right now to make it happen,” DeChambeau explained.

“There is probably a five-step process to this whole thing. It involves, I will be quite frank on this, but from a government perspective, an economic viability perspective, an accessibility perspective, a Crusher’s perspective, and an academy perspective, all those have to line up.
I am hitting it from every angle. Why I am saying it right now, I don’t know. But that’s ultimately what I am trying to accomplish is a full 360-encompassing thing.”

In addition to holding talks over this new project, DeChambeau is also looking to manufacture a new driver, which could soon be available to the public.

When will Bryson DeChambeau’s project be complete?

After detailing his plans, DeChambeau explained that his team are looking for approval and a conditional use permit within the next six to nine months. The American also revealed it will take 12-15 months to get all the approved permits.

Currently, the project has purchased over 200 acres of land. If approval is granted, a driving range will be built first, followed by a multi-sport complex.

DeChambeau deserves immense credit for his accomplishments since quitting the PGA Tour and signing for LIV. Few golfers really move the needle like the American, and now he’s using his position of power in a positive way.

Unlike many of his LIV colleagues, DeChambeau is one of the few players whose reputation has massively improved since joining the breakaway tour.
