Bryson DeChambeau is six back of Scottie Scheffler at the PGA Championship after dropping crucial shots down the stretch and he’s admitted that he has simply got to improve one element of his game if he’s to have a shot at winning.
DeChambeau was level at seven-under with Scheffler at one point but as he dropped shots late on, Scheffler showed his class and finished with three birdies in the final four holes.
Of course, it’s been another excellent showing from DeChambeau and he’s a certainty to be included in this year’s Ryder Cup team.
However, while the form is there for DeChambeau, the man himself has admitted that he has got to improve on one thing he’s struggled with his whole career.

Bryson DeChambeau makes honest admission about his major weakness in golf
Speaking to the media in the aftermath of his third round efforts, DeChambeau was pressed on what he might need to do better to get back into the mix.
And being as honest as ever, DeChambeau admitted that he needs to get better at playing in wind, something he feels has hampered his entire career.
“Patience. If we can judge the wind a bit better and manage the wind a bit better. That is something that I have always struggled with, quite frankly. I fly the ball so high and it feels like it goes like this [all over the place] sometimes,” DeChambeau admitted.
“I just need to get my start lines a little better, control the curvature and hopefully I can continue to learn how to play a bit better in the wind, as that has been a struggling point in my whole entire career. But I have been playing better recently. I have been playing better in wet conditions, the next challenge is wind. If I can do that, maybe I’ll have a chance in the British Open!”
Pressed further on what it might take to get in a position to win the PGA Championship, DeChambeau conceded it’s going to take a mammoth effort.
“All I can do is control what I can control and if I go out and shoot 6-, 7-under, that’s what I’m focused on doing. Not that that’s what’s going to do it, but you never know. But I’m going to shoot as low as I possibly can,” he admitted.
Bryson DeChambeau remains a box office attraction
Golf might have its problems at the minute and there are things that need sorting and certain opinions in the game.
But one thing that is not even up for debate is the fact that Bryson DeChambeau is a complete superstar and when he plays and plays well, golf is a better sport to watch.
Sure, he might have dropped off late in the day in round three. But even then, he is so watchable.
DeChambeau’s interactions with fans, the way he speaks to the media, and not to mention the fact he’s a simply brilliant golfer, mean he is easily the PGA Tour’s biggest loss thanks to the LIV Golf stuff.
One day, the PGA Tour needs Bryson back and they should be doing all they can to make that happen.
