Bryson DeChambeau has shared what has improved in the game of Joaquin Niemann to make the Chilean one of the best golfers in the world right now.
Joaquin Niemann has made a flying start to the new LIV Golf season. The 25-year-old saw off Sergio Garcia in a play-off to clinch victory in the curtain-raiser at Mayakoba.
And he made it two wins in three at the start of the campaign, clinching victory in Jeddah by four shots.
Unsurprisingly, Niemann has received a special invite to The Masters next month. There is surely no doubt that there are few players in the world right now in better form than Niemann.
Bryson DeChambeau lauds Joaquin Niemann
Bryson DeChambeau was asked in his press conference what exactly he has noticed about Niemann’s game and the improvement this year. And he suggested that the youngster has simply become so much more consistent.

“He’s more repeatable, and he’s not making mistakes. He’s not making dumb mistakes. It’s as simple as it can be. He’s in a great place and I’m very happy for him. All of the accolades that have come with that have been great. I hope that more continues to come, because he deserves every bit of it. And he’s one of the best players in the world,” he said.
“His shot-shaping too, he can hit it right to left and left to right, and be comfortable with both of those and that’s crucial.”
One of the best in the world right now
You have to say that Niemann has to be amongst the favourites for The Masters. His best finish in a major championship to date came at Augusta National last year.
Obviously, there will be something of a question mark over how he will fare over four rounds given that LIV events are only 54 holes. But on current evidence, he may be able to pull out enough of a lead in the first three rounds to get across the line anyway.
It would be something of a shambles if Niemann was not at Augusta. Whatever you think of LIV, the best of the best should be at each of the majors.
And right now, it really does feel that no-one on the planet is playing better than Niemann.
