Bryson DeChambeau is very much the man of the moment in golf right now but he’s still found time to have some nice words about Xander Schauffele.
While Bryson makes waves in the world of social media by hosting Donald Trump on his YouTube channel, Schauffele wrapped up his second major of the year by winning The Open.
Of course, that’s not a slant on DeChambeau, who won the US Open in dramatic fashion from Rory McIlroy.
However, one of the big appealing factors for DeChambeau is the fact he is just a humble, down to earth guy who wants to succeed in golf.
And when asked to give some general thoughts on Xander Schauffele’s success of late, DeChambeau couldn’t praise his fellow American enough.

Bryson DeChambeau lauds ‘superstar’ Xander Schauffele
Speaking in the press conferences ahead of the LIV event in the UK this week, DeChambeau admitted he’s always thought Schauffele was destined for stardom.
“Playing junior golf with him, playing collegiate golf with him, he’s always been a superstar. I’ve looked at him and though ‘man if I can beat him, that’s really good’,” DeChambeau said.
“He’s going to be great for a long time so seeing his career develop over the course of time has been awesome. For him to win two this year is a ground breaking year for him.
“I can’t wait to compete against him in the majors and he’s going to be a great competitor and he just inspires us all to work a little bit harder. Getting two in a year is not easy and he’s just shown he can do it.”
At the time of writing, DeChambeau has had a bit of an underwhelming start to his first round at LIV JCB.
However, he remains one of the star attractions of the golfing world and his comments on Schauffele are the mark of a man who very much recognises how good others are.
Hopefully, we get to see more of Schauffle and DeChambeau battling it out in the future.
