Bryson DeChambeau will most definitely be part of the U.S. Ryder Cup team at Bethpage Black in September.

But the question is, will Keegan Bradley be one of DeChambeau‘s teammates at the Ryder Cup, or will he act purely as the captain of the U.S. team?

The 39-year-old’s win at the Travelers Championship on Sunday really threw the cat amongst the pigeons.

Bradley should definitely play at the Ryder Cup, according to one of his vice-captains Kevin Kisner.

And that is the general consensus amongst the vast majority of the American tour pros and fans.

Bradley invited DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka to a Ryder Cup meeting a few months ago, and there is every chance that the man from Vermont could play alongside the two LIV stars at Bethpage.

DeChambeau is in Dallas right now preparing for the LIV event at Maridoe Golf Club.

The 31-year-old has been in sensational form this season, and he’s currently sitting inside the top six automatic qualifying places on the U.S. points list.

The man from Dallas, Texas, is a lock to be on the U.S. team for the 45th edition of the Ryder Cup.

But what does he think about the potential of Bradley playing in September?

He was asked by a journalist ahead of LIV Dallas whether the Travelers champion is deserving of a place on the Ryder Cup team.

DeChambeau responded: I personally think given how he’s played, I could confidently say he should be a part of the team for sure.

The truth is, it’s getting incredibly difficult to envisage a scenario whereby Bradley isn’t on the team at Bethpage Black come September.

Current U.S. Ryder Cup points list

Team USA is shaping up quite nicely with just three months remaining until the Ryder Cup gets under way.

Here’s how the top 12 on the points list looks right now.

Player name and position
1. Scottie Scheffler
2. Xander Schauffele
3. J.J. Spaun
4. Russell Henley
5. Bryson DeChambeau
6. Justin Thomas
7. Collin Morikawa
8. Ben Griffin
9. Keegan Bradley
10. Harris English
11. Maverick McNealy
12. Brain Harman

The top eight names on that list are locks for the Ryder Cup, and it’s likely that ninth place Bradley is as well.

Koepka is someone who could get a captain’s pick, whilst there are calls for Patrick Reed to be on the team as well.

However, Bradley is undoubtedly one of the most in-form American players right now, and it would be a real waste if he didn’t play against the Europeans.

DeChambeau has made it very clear that Bradley should be at Bethpage Black in a playing capacity, but whether he acts as a playing Ryder Cup captain remains to be seen.
