Scottie Scheffler is the Olympic golf champion for 2024 and Bryson DeChambeau has been among the first to give their reaction.
Scheffler charged through the field to finish nine under par for his final round which proved enough to see off Tommy Fleetwood in the end.
For Scheffler, it caps a remarkable 2024 that has seen him win a major and mop up most of the signature events on the PGA Tour.

His round of nine under was labelled as a ‘joke’ by Jon Rahm and in the end, the world number one was simply in a class of his own.
Of course, Scheffler was there on merit but among the four members of Team USA, some fans felt Bryson DeChambeau should have been in the team.

The US Open winner and LIV Golf star has had a superb 2024 himself.
But despite missing out, DeChambeau showed his class as he took to social media tonight to immediately congratulate Scheffler.
Bryson DeChambeau sends message to Scottie Scheffler after his gold medal win
Taking to X to provide his thoughts and send a message to Scottie, DeChambeau continued his habit of showing his human side by sending well-wishes to the world number one.
DeChambeau, of course, wanted nothing more than for Team USA to pick up a gold medal and he’ll have been delighted to see the world’s top player prove himself again.#
As for the next Olympics in 2028, well, who knows?
Surely by then there will be a chance for the LIV players to make the team and there’ll be nobody more hyped to play in their home country at an Olympics than Bryson.
Los Angeles is ready to play host to the big guns and DeChambeau will be doing all he can to get there.
For now, though, it’s Scottie Scheffler’s moment and one which he will thoroughly enjoy.
