Bryson DeChambeau has been speaking about his incredible distance off the tee, and the LIV Golf star has named three players who could give him a run for his money with the driver.
The big-hitting American averaged the longest driving distance during his US Open win at Pinehurst No.2 last week and was seen tinkering with his driver heads before the final round on Sunday.
DeChambeau’s obsession for hitting the ball far is well known. Whether that’s competing in long drive competitions or trying to reach a par-five in one [Bay Hill, 2021], the American is always trying to push the boundaries of what’s possible off the tee.

However, several pros are now pushing the limits in terms of ball and clubhead speed; there was even a player at the US Open who had clocked 200mph ball speed.
Now, speaking in a quickfire interview with Golf Digest, DeChambeau has named three players who could compete with his driving distances.
And surprisingly, there’s no room for Rory McIlroy.
He explained: “Jake Knapp, Wilco [Nienaber], Lampracht. He has the speed.”

Three lesser-known names who could undoubtedly compete with DeChambeau if the quartet had a driving competition.
Christo Lamprecht is a South African-born amateur who caught the headlines after crushing a combined 719 yards with his first two drives at Augusta National.
Furthermore, back in 2023, the 23-year-old smashed an eye-catching 418-yard drive at the Alfred Dunhill Championship.
Wilco Nienaber is another big-hitting South African star who caught DeChambeau’s eye. The 24-year-old clocked a 439-yard effort during the second round of the Joburg Open back in 2020.
Golf fans will be more aware of 30-year-old Jake Knapp. The American’s smooth swing and 182.5 ball speed have helped produce some big hits during the 2024 season.
