Bryson DeChambeau’s putting has massively improved in recent years, but the LIV Golf star believes two players are far and away the best putters on the planet.
Tiger Woods, during his heyday, was unlike anything the golfing world has seen on the greens. Woods would go months – sometimes years – without missing a putt outside eight feet.
It was relentless and completely demoralising for those trying to chase him down.
Of course, the Tiger of old is now a distant memory, and LIV heavyweight DeChambeau believes two players are “hands down” the game’s elite putters.

DeChambeau knows a thing or two about making clutch putts after producing some nerveless moments during his US Open win at Pinehurst.
However, in an interview with Golf.com, DeChambeau believes Denny McCarthy and Cameron Smith are the most talented players he’s seen on the greens.
“Putting, it’s got to be Denny McCarthy, hands down, and maybe Cam Smith,” said the American. “In fact, those two should have a match. That would be great entertainment.”
DeChambeau previously claimed Smith’s putting was ‘unbelievable’ in a snap interview with Golf Digest.

DeChambeau’s improvement in his putting deserves credit. Nick Faldo questioned the American’s technique during the Masters, but DeChambeau proved his methods could withstand pressure during his US Open win at Pinehurst.
Furthermore, after the PGA Championship at Valhalla, Chris Como praised Dechambeau’s putting during the latter stages of the tournament.
Looking at the current LIV Golf putting average statistics, Smith tops the leaderboard, but DeChambeau is just 0.06 back of the Aussie’s pacesetting number.
Given how many looks he has at birdie, DeChambeau’s elite-level putting will give him several more chances to win when the 2025 major championship season rolls around.
