Brooks Koepka has claimed one part of his game is starting to really “heat up” after his second-round 64 at LIV Golf Singapore.
The American’s seven-under round has him in the lead on 12-under-par ahead of Sunday’s final 18 holes.
Starting on the 1st, the five-time major winner made three birdies on his first nine before picking up four shots in his final six holes to take the outright lead.
Thomas Pieters, Adrian Meronk, Abraham Ancer and Mattew Wolff are all tied for second on nine under.
Brooks Koepka wowed by one part of his game after second-round 64 at Sentosa

Koepka rarely gets too excited, regardless of the score he posts. However, even the American was ready to admit one part of his game was impressive on Friday.
Having switched to a mallet putter before The Masters, the 34-year-old’s work on the greens has often come under the spotlight.
At Sentosa, his short stick play was impeccable, something he noted in his post-round chat with the media.
He said [via Deadspin]: “Ball-striking is finally starting to come around, putting starting to heat up a bit. I think I’m just hitting better golf shots, kind of fundamentals and with a bit of swagger. Just pleased with the way I’ve played so far.”
“You just go about it and you kind of feel it out the first couple of holes and then go from there and see where things are at. Then you kind of get an idea of how it’s playing.”
Koepka back to near his best after excellent second round in Singapore
Koepka’s performance on Friday was a reminder to the golfing world that he’s more than capable of competing at the top level.
When his putter behaves, there are very few who strike the ball as clean as the American, and with the PGA Championship within view, there’s every chance of the 2023 champion retaining his title.
Golf fans should enjoy the prospect of Koepka battling it out with Scottie Scheffler. Of course, everyone is mesmerised by what Scheffler is doing right now but added competition can only be a good thing for the game of golf.
Furthermore, the LIV Golf v PGA Tour narrative also adds a juicy storyline should the pair go close at Valhalla.
