Brooks Koepka reveals what he thinks of Jon Rahm after beating him in playoff to win Liv Golf Greenbrier tournament

Brooks Koepka is a winner again on the LIV tour after seeing off Jon Rahm in a dramatic playoff at LIV Greenbrier.

Koepka kept his cool to see off Rahm and not only seal the individual win but take home the team victory for his Smash GC as well.

The American now has five wins on LIV since making the big money move from the PGA Tour, the most of any player on there, and very much seems to be enjoying his golf.

Couple that with the wins he’s had on the PGA Tour and the five majors he’s bagged, and Koepka could retire right now and look back on an amazing career.

Still, he had work to do to see off Jon Rahm at Greenbrier. The Spaniard had beaten Koepka to the Green Jacket at Augusta back in 2023.

However, Koepka felt there was no animosity and instead was just happy to get one over Rahm.

Speaking in an interview immediately after winning out in the playoff against Rahm, Koepka admitted it was nice to get one over the Spaniard.

“I think this is my favourite one (win on LIV). It’s always good when you battle good players,” Koepka commented.

“I battled Gooch for a while, nearly every tournament. But Jon’s a hell of a player and for whatever reason he’s always got the better of me a little bit, as of late, so it feels nice just to get one.

When quizzed on if there was extra motivation from the 2023 Masters, Koepka suggested it wasn’t really on his mind.

“I wasn’t thinking about it (the extra motivation against Rahm). I just wanted to play good golf and it’s a good win and I’m ready to go home and see my wife and kid.”

For all the talk of the best players to ever do it, it seems like Brooks Koepka hardly ever gets a mention.

But how do we look over a player who has won on two flagship tours, and won five majors as well?

The fact is, we can’t.

Brooks Koepka is showing time and again just how good he is as a player and to see off Rahm like he did tonight showed incredible talent and composure.

LIV Golf has had some big moments in 2024 and this felt like another one.
