There is plenty of excitement about The Match this weekend with Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler taking on Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka but the LIV duo may have just sparked an even more exciting topic of conversation.
Las Vegas will host the big event next week as two of the PGA Tour’s biggest and best go head to head with two giants of the LIV Golf scene.
While the event is likely to be played in an exhibition type spirit, both duos will be desperate to win and get one over the other tour.
Indeed, the team element of LIV vs the PGA Tour is something many fans have been calling for and in a surprise turn of events, Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka have hinted there might be more to come.

LIV Golf and PGA Tour could go head to head in Ryder Cup style event
In a tweet posted by golf journalist Matt Vincenzi, it’s claimed that DeChambeau and Koepka have spoken of a potential Ryder Cup style match up as early as next year.
At the moment, the LIV players only get the chance to play in the majors and it’s been a constant bone of contention in golf for the last few years.
With LIV and the PGA set to remain separate entities, seeing match-play style golf between the two tours could very much bring eyes to the product as a whole.
Golf needs LIV v PGA events to thrive in the future
With talk of a deal being close between the PIF and the PGA Tour, there’s a chance that things do indeed start to settle down in golf in the next 12 months.
And if that means we get big events where teams from the PGA take on teams from LIV, then it’s surely only a good thing for the game.
The Ryder Cup remains the biggest spectacle in the sport but if LIV and the PGA can somehow muster an event that bring similar excitement, we could be onto a real winner.
