Brooks Koepka continues to etch his name into LIV Golf history after the American landed his fifth individual title during last weekend’s event at Greenbrier.

The five-time major champion beat Jon Rahm in a playoff at the West Virginia venue and secured his second win of the season after his dominant display in Singapore.

Despite claiming multiple LIV titles, Koepka admitted he was disappointed with his season after failing to compete in any of the majors.

LIV’s hierarchy would’ve been delighted to see two of their biggest-name players go head-to-head on Sunday, and now, an old tweet [now X] from Koepka on Rahm has emerged.

Rahm became one of the highest-paid golfers of all time when he accepted LIV’s contract offer back in 2023, and Koepka was one of the first to react.

The American posted a picture of himself and Rahm competing at the Masters on X [formerly Twitter].

“Ready for more Sunday battles,” wrote Koepka [December 2023].

And now, after the drama-filled Greenbrier event, the five-time major champion’s wishes have come true.

It’s remarkable just how much has changed since Koepka posted that image back in 2023.

Rahm has thrived in his first LIV Golf season. The Spaniard currently leads the individual championship and hasn’t finished outside the top ten thus far. The 2023 Masters champion won his first event at JCB after coming close several weeks prior.

It’s not just Rahm’s on-the-course performance that has sparked debate. The Spaniard has, at times, been critical of LIV’s format. Furthermore, bombshell rumours have emerged suggesting Rahm is desperate to return to the PGA Tour.

Koepka’s performance has remained largely unchanged since he made the X post in December. The 34-year-old’s extremely high standards mean he’s rarely happy with how he plays.

Koepka currently sits seventh in the individual standings and will be looking to finish emphatically as the LIV season draws to a close in the coming weeks.
