The 2024 Golf Masters is just a few months away now and there’s already talk of who might win the tournament.

Jon Rahm is the current holder of the green jacket and he’ll head into the tournament in April once again tipped as one of the best bets. Previous winners such as Scottie Scheffler and even Tiger Woods will also attract plenty of attention.

Of course, there are plenty of names who can win it. Rory McIlroy is desperate to finally get his own green jacket after some near-misses, while big-game players like Ludvig Aberg, Patrick Cantlay and Matt Fitzpatrick will be among a number who fancy their chances.

However, speaking about who will win the Masters, golfer Greg Chalmers has picked out Viktor Hovland as the man to win this year’s event.

Viktor Hovland tipped to win 2024 Masters

Chalmers was speaking on the Hack It Out Golf podcast alongside Mark Crossfield and Lou Stagner.

And when discussing some predictions for 2024, Chalmers was under no illusions as to who his pick is to win at Augusta in April.

“You can book this in, the Masters is going to be won by Viktor Hovland,” Chalmers said.

Hovland enjoyed a superb 2023 on the PGA Tour and starred in Europe’s winning Ryder Cup effort in Rome.

The Norwegian star racked up three PGA Tour wins, coming out on top in The Memorial Tournament, The BMW Championship and The Tour Championship at East Lake.

Hovland will be hoping to build on that performance and improve even further in 2024.

Still only 26-years-old, Hovland has a lifetime ahead of him in terms of a golfing career. The fact he already has so many wins under his belt bodes well and he could be a big contender this year.

As Chalmers says, Viktor Hovland is as good a bet as anyone to take home the green jacket this time around.
