Billy Horschel shares why he thinks the Ryder Cup in New York will be absolutely ‘insane’

Billy Horschel is one man with eyes on the 2025 Ryder Cup and he’s come out and made a massive prediction for the tournament already.

The USA will host the 2025 event in New York as Bethpage is the venue for the US to seek revenge on Team Europe after their Rome dominance.

Team USA will probably go into the event with a cluster of the best players in the OWGR, including world number one Scottie Scheffler and world number two, Xander Schauffele.

Of course, there remains uncertainty around the likes of Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau.

However, Billy Horschel is one man who is very much itching to be involved.

And speaking about the Ryder Cup in New York, Horschel has suggested we could be in line to see something we’ve never seen before.

Speaking on the Another Dooley Noted Podcast, Horschel spoke about the Ryder Cup in 2025.

And admitting he is looking to play his part, he also suggested it could be one of the best Ryder Cups we’ve ever witnessed.

“Yeah. I’m in a really good position now going into 24 in the Ryder Cup points list, so if I can have a similar year in 2025, hopefully a similar year to this year, then hopefully I can secure my place,” Horschel said.

“It’s in New York next year at Bethpage which is going to be insane. Insane Ryder Cup. I don’t think there will be a Ryder Cup ever like it again in my opinion.

“We all know how the New York fans are, it’s going to be a raucous rowdy atmosphere but an unbelievable sporting event that anyone who is a sports fan will not want to miss.”

Who is qualifying for the Team USA as it stands?

2024 allowed players to earn points for the Ryder Cup and Team USA by playing in the four majors and The Players.

Of course, Scheffler won The Players and the Masters, Xander Schauffele won The Open and the PGA, while LIV Golf’s Bryson DeChambeau took the glory in the US Open.

That’s left little room for others but as things stand, Billy Horschel will be going to Bethpage.

Horschel is in sixth position so far, automatically ensuring he’d get a pick along with Scheffler, Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Bryson DeChambeau, and Brian Harman.

Of course, things will change as 2025 bundles into view and throughout.

But for now, Billy Horschel is very much in the mix and will be hoping to get his shot when Keegan Bradley makes his choices.
