The calls for Anthony Kim to receive an invite to The Masters have ramped up significantly following his dramatic victory at LIV Golf Adelaide.

There is no question that LIV Golf has not had a greater moment in its history than Anthony Kim coming from five shots behind to win at The Grange.

Should Anthony Kim be invited to play in The Masters in April?

No one would have given Kim a shot at victory heading into Sunday. Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau were both five shots clear. And the 40-year-old was relegated only last season.

But Kim rolled back the years and produced a stunning nine under par round to secure his first professional win since 2010.

With that, some believe Kim should be invited to The Masters for the first time in 15 years in April.

Kim is now 203rd in the world rankings. And his form has been trending in the right direction for some time. He also enjoyed some significant moments at Augusta National during his first career.

However, speaking on the Golf Channel Podcast, Rex Hoggard explained why he is not convinced Kim will receive an invite for The Masters this year.

“I think the window between now and The Masters, just given he doesn’t have a lot of events to play – it’s just a schedule question, this isn’t about what he could possibly do on the golf course – it’s probably going to be too narrow, he’s going to run out of time trying to get into The Masters,” he said.

“The one that interests me the most in that conversation would be the PGA Championship. This goes back to his relationship with the PGA of America and everything that he meant to that 2008 Ryder Cup team. I think there would be a lot of sympathy to bring him back in and at least get him back into that major championship.”

How Anthony Kim performed at The Masters and the PGA Championship earlier in his career

There will be plenty of uproar if Kim does not receive an invite to The Masters. Obviously, there will be several players in contention for those final spots, but few will bring as much attention to Augusta National as Kim.

He broke the record for the most birdies in a single Masters round, with 11 back in 2009. And he went on to finish third the following year.

Who is the biggest winner if Tiger Woods never existed?

Interestingly, his record at the PGA Championship is nowhere near as impressive.

His best result came in 2007 when he finished tied for 50th. Kim missed the cut in both 2010 and 2011.

But the golfing world is now desperate to know just what Kim could do if he gets another chance to tee it up on a major stage following his emotional win on Sunday.
