Adam Scott has carved out an impressive career, which reached a high point at the 2013 Masters.

Scott edged out Ángel Cabrera on the 10th at Augusta National, the second playoff hole. The Aussie made birdie after finding the green with an exquisite approach shot under the most intense pressure.

Scott said he’s always nervous at the Masters, and the 44-year-old has now claimed that his six iron to Augusta’s famous 10th was the best shot he’s ever hit.

Speaking On The Mark Podcast, the Aussie relived the shot from 11 years ago.

“Really, given the circumstance, I think that’s the best shot I’ve ever hit [Masters approach],” Scott said.

“It’s a pure as it gets. When I was a kid, I think of shots like Faldo hit his chicken wing five iron into 15 at Muirfield; that was the greatest shot I saw as a teenager; that’s how I feel about myself for my own shot [at The Masters].”

Scott never anticipated winning the Masters, and his victory would go down as one of the most dramatic in Augusta National’s glittering history.

Steve Williams played huge role in Adam Scott’s Masters win

Interestingly, Scott revealed that his caddie at the time, Steve Williams, played a vital role on the second playoff hole.

Initially, the Aussie anticipated his putt moving one cup, but Williams felt there was more break. “The read was the big thing on that putt, and I’ve talked about it before,” Scott added.

“Steve Williams was caddying for me. We were both reading the putt. I said, ‘I think it’s breaking a cup; what do you think.’ He said, ‘I think it’s breaking two cups, and it breaks a lot, Adam.’ I said, ‘Have you seen this putt before?’

“That’s a big difference. That’s 100 per cent more break. He said, ‘Adam, you have to believe me; it breaks up here a lot.’ We had a good thing going at the time, especially that day.”
