Scottie Scheffler is currently enjoying a well-deserved break after another busy and successful season.

Scheffler will be back at the Hero World Challenge early next month, a tournament he has won in each of the past two years.

World number one Scheffler led the way for scoring average on the PGA Tour in 2025, ahead of the likes of Tommy Fleetwood and Rory McIlroy.

The trio were the standout figures in the latest PGA Tour campaign, although the American was a class above once more.

He claimed six wins, with victories at the PGA Championship and The Open Championship among that success.

Scheffler has, however, enjoyed most of his major championship success at Augusta National, having won The Masters on two occasions.

And as he revealed to TaylorMade Golf in 2023, he has one specific shot that he uses on two holes when taking on the major championship at Augusta.

Teaching golfers how to hit his fairway wood rope hook, he explained: “I’m going to teach you a little shot that I use at number 10 at Augusta and number 13 at Augusta.

“Little different variations. Number 10 is more of a lower shot, number 13 is more of a higher shot. But either way, for both of them you can see I’ve got these trees in my way.

“And for the sake of teaching, we’re just going to pretend they’re really tall pine trees, not little palm trees.

“But for this shot, just for the setup, the way I feel is if I was to take a normal setup, I want to feel like I’m aimed right on the right edge of the tree.

“So if I take a normal setup, I’m going to try and hit a straight shot. I’m aiming just barely on the right edge of the trees. Then I’m going to move the ball back almost to the back part of my stance.

“So still feel like my feet are aiming there, ball is now really far back, and all I’m going to do from here, to hit the low one, I feel like I’m going to swing low and right, and then I’m going to get my right forearm just to turn over.

“And that’s really all I’m thinking about. Because when you set up like this, I can start the ball… I know I’m not going to start in line with the tree, because with the ball position here, the ball is going to start way out to the right.

“And all I’m trying to do is get that ball to turn over as much as I can. Number 10 at Augusta, the fairway, it’s very far downhill and it slopes big right to left and down.

“And so all I’m trying to do is get the ball hooking and get the ball running, and it’s going to just use the contours of the fairway to kind of get down there as far as it can go with the three wood.

“But let’s try it out. So remember, feel like you’re aiming at the right edge of the tree, and then put it way back in your stance.

“So now it feels like I’m aiming more like 10 yards right of the tree, and I’m swinging low and to the right. That was number 10, nice low one.

“If we’re going to go number 13, it’s going to be a similar shot shape, just a lot higher. So you’ll notice I’m going to tee this one up pretty high. That’s unusual for a three wood.

“Usually I’ll tee my three wood up a little bit lower than that, but at this tee height, it’s a lot easier for me to swing up on the ball.

“So most of the steps are going to be pretty much the same. Ball very far back. Feel like I’m aimed kind on the edge of the tree line.

“With that ball position back, ball is going to start out to the right. I’m just going to turn my right forearm over and hit a hook.

“And instead of feeling like I’m swinging low into the right, this one I’m swinging high into the right, my right shoulder is going to finish a lot higher than my left.”

At 29, Scheffler is already a four-time major championship winner, with his first two wins having arrived at Augusta National.

He first claimed the green jacket in 2022, edging out rival McIlroy by three shots as he finished on 10-under.

In 2024, the American superstar went one better to finish on 11-under, as he defeated Ludvig Aberg by four shots.

Not many golfers have conquered the iconic course in Georgia, but Scheffler is undoubtedly on that exclusive list.
