Excitement is already building ahead of the 2026 PGA Tour and LIV Golf seasons.

PGA Tour stars like Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are enjoying their down time right now, while LIV golfers Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm are in the middle of their own quiet periods of the year as well.

The PGA Tour will be slightly different in 2026, with a new Signature Event added in Miami.

There will be no PGA Tour opener at The Sentry in January either after a water conservation dispute on the Hawaiian island of Maui saw the tournament canceled.

Meanwhile, LIV Golf’s schedule has been tweaked from last year as well, with new events in South Africa and Louisiana.

However, when will we see the biggest stars back in action?

Scottie Scheffler

World number one Scheffler will next be in action on December 4th at the Hero World Challenge, where he is looking to win the tournament for the third time in a row. We will then most likely have to wait until late January before Scheffler officially begins his 2026 PGA Tour season.

Rory McIlroy

McIlroy is someone who takes plenty of weeks off throughout the season, but he’s actually in action this week out in Abu Dhabi. He will also be teeing it up next week at the DP World Tour Championship before heading off to Melbourne in December to compete at the Australian Open.

Tommy Fleetwood

Like McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood will be in action this week in Abu Dhabi and next week in Dubai. He will then tee it up at The Skins game in Florida later this month.

Jordan Spieth

Despite Jordan Spieth‘s poor form over the past few years, he’s still one of the biggest draws in the game. Spieth will next be in action at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas in December.

Justin Thomas

The Skins Game on November 28th will be the next time we see Justin Thomas in action before he heads off to the Bahamas to play at the Hero alongside Scheffler and Spieth.

Xander Schauffele

Like Fleetwood and Thomas, Xander Schauffele will be back in action at The Skins Game later this month. However, his next official competitive appearance may not be until the American Express in California in January.

Big name LIV golfers set for quiet winters

Bryson DeChambeau

As things stand, DeChambeau is not entered to play in any events until LIV’s 2026 season opener in Saudi Arabia in February. However, he did compete in the International series in India last season, so perhaps we could see him on the Asian Tour towards the end of January.

Jon Rahm

There is a real chance we may not see Rahm back in action until February when the 2026 LIV Golf season begins. Rahm plans to take time off until LIV Riyadh in three months’ time.

Joaquin Niemann

Niemann will be in action at the Australian Open at Royal Melbourne Golf Club on December 4th, although he does have the option of playing some Asian Tour events in between now and then if he so chooses.

Dustin Johnson

LIV Golf star Dustin Johnson will most likely play in the Saudi International next month – a tournament he has won twice before – although he hasn’t confirmed his entrance into that event just yet.
