Michael Kim has improved plenty in the 2025 season, and now he has some advice for amateur golfers to get better.
Kim won the French Open on the DP World Tour in September, his first professional victory since the 2018 John Deere Classic.
The American also had strong performances at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and WM Phoenix Open this year, as his game reached another level.
Kim has now told amateur players two things to work on over the winter to lower their handicaps when spring and summer come.

Michael Kim gives advice to amateur golfers
Kim is one of the most active professional golfers on social media and sometimes asks his followers if they have any questions for him.
In his latest Q&A after the DP World Tour Championship, Kim was asked what advice he would give to an amateur golfer to improve in the next few months.

“Driver and speed. If you slice the ball, speed training will more than likely help you,” he replied, as swinging faster means there is less chance of an open face at impact.
Kim also responded to a question about improving the mental side of golf, which is arguably as important as the physical side.
“Slightly different, but amateurs are terrible at diagnosing why things went wrong,” he added. Perhaps amateurs should spend more time thinking about why they are hitting bad golf shots, or even seek professional help.
Michael Kim comments on playing on DP World Tour recently
Most American PGA Tour players enjoy some time off after the FedEx Cup Playoffs in August, whereas Kim decided to play all around the world.
He has thoroughly enjoyed competing in France, Japan, India, and the United Arab Emirates in the last three months.
“If it were just money, I would have played more PGA Tour stuff. I wanted the experience of going to new places,” Kim denied that money was his motivation.
Should more American golfers play DP World Tour events?
“I didn’t need to focus on the PGA Tour since I locked up top 50, and I wanted to try it out. We’ll see if it continues to next year,” he continued.
Kim’s response suggests that he could do the same next season if he finished in the top 50 in the FedEx Cup standings again.
