Keegan Bradley’s win at The Travelers will end up having further ramifications it seems and now PGA Tour player Michael Kim has offered up an intriguing suggestion for fans of golf.
Bradley’s dramatic win over Tommy Fleetwood ensured he jumped up the world rankings and he is now strongly considered one of the best American players ahead of the Ryder Cup.
However, Bradley’s captaincy has made things complex.
The American skipper has admitted he’s open to playing both roles at Bethpage Black but Trevor Immelman has insisted that Bradley not play.
And while the debate rages on, current PGA Tour player Michael Kim has now offered his take, with a bit of a twist.

Michael Kim is always a good golfer to look at after a tournament and as usual, he’s offered up his thoughts on the tournament as a whole and his own efforts.
This time, though, Kim has posted on X to discuss the Bradley as captain scenario and shared a different view.
Indeed, Kim seems to suggest that had Bradley not won, there’d be nowhere near this sort of reaction.
“Thoughts from Travelers: -I had a decent tournament but finished with a lousy Sunday. It was mostly one hole, the 13th, I made a triple. I hit three poor shots in a row,” Kim wrote.
“It happens. My putter was a bit of a let down as well. Gutted for Tommy. I heard he looked undecided on 18 on the 2nd shot. The wind was super tricky there. It was swirling around the trees a ton and it was switching constantly in a different direction than the normal wind. I had a lot of trouble committing to a shot and number there as well. It also looked like his putt hit a bump for par. He’s such a nice dude and I’m sure he’ll get his win somewhere big soon.
“Amazing golf by Keegan at a tournament he cherishes. I just have to say that, people put too much emphasis on a win over a top 3,4. The difference is often one three putt or one mis-club in 4 days or 1 out of 250 shots. Keegan can definitely be on the team as a player since he’s an amazing golfer but I think people are getting caught up in the moment after a crazy W. If he had finished 2nd, I don’t think the reaction would be as much. Food for thought.
“Sally’s Apizza was legit. Loved the crispiness of the dough and the sauce was great too. 9/10. Would be higher but the second time at a different location wasn’t as great to me. Still highly recommend -There was a stomach bug going around the field that came from the US open thru kids and players. Crazy how it spread to many players. Why you saw some struggle and a few WD. I had it a little bit but wasn’t nearly as bad as others. -On to Detroit! My last notable chance to lock down a spot in the open but will need a really high finish. Game still feels solid and looking forward to it.”
The golfer tipped to replace Keegan Bradley as Team USA captain
There seems to be a growing consensus from those who follow and analyse the game that Keegan Bradley simply cannot captain and play.
With that feeling comes the idea of potential replacements, with many pointing immediately in the direction of Tiger Woods.
However, while Woods might be an option, Ryan Lavner has suggested that Brandt Snedeker is the man for Team USA.
“Brandt Snedeker to me makes a lot of sense. He is already going to be captaining Presidents Cup team in 2026, he was filled in early as a vice-captain for the Ryder Cup team, he has familiarised himself with how the backroom staff and support needs to work and has been keeping up with all the logistical headaches which go along with a home Ryder Cup. Let him handle that if it becomes blatantly obvious if he needs to be on this team. I don’t think a playing captain will ever work in this scenario,” Lavner said.
With Bradley likely to be needing to make a decision quickly, this could become an unwelcome distraction for the USA.
Right now, Europe will be licking their lips, as Luke Donald will be more than prepared for every eventuality.
