Golden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry is not only an all-time great basketball player, but he is also an excellent golfer.

The PGA Tour reported in 2023 that Curry’s handicap was +1.3. Considering he dedicates most of his time to another sport, that is seriously impressive.

But the four-time champion and two-time Most Valuable Player is not the only NBA player who enjoys playing golf in their spare time.

Speaking to former Tour player Smylie Kaufman, Curry previously named the five best golfers in the NBA.

Steph Curry picked the five best golfers in the NBA

Curry is probably the best golfer in the NBA, but he overlooked himself in this discussion, which took place two years ago. He picked his brother instead: “I’m going with Seth Curry. I’m picking bro.”

He then shared that former Milwaukee Bucks guard Pat Connaughton has a “reputation” in NBA circles for being an impressive golfer.

“I’m picking Pat Connaughton at the two,” Curry said. “I hear he’s very solid out there. I haven’t actually played with him, but when your reputation precedes you…”

Curry also picked two ex-Warriors teammates, as well as a 2019 NBA champion with the Toronto Raptors, Kyle Lowry.

“We’re going to have a really small team,” Curry added. “I’m taking Kyle Lowry. I’m taking Klay Thompson and Andre Iguodala.”

Steph Curry to play in celebrity golf tournament with NBA stars

Curry is expected to play in the 36th American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament at Edgewood Tahoe from July 11 to 13.

The 26-year-old famously made a hole-in-one at the tournament in 2023 and sprinted down the fairway in an epic celebration.

The field for this year’s event is loaded with high-profile names, including many past and present NBA stars.

Hall of Famers Ray Allen, Charles Barkley, Vince Carter, and Grant Hill will all tee it up at Edgewood Tahoe in two weeks.

The current NBA stars include Los Angeles Lakers fan favorite Austin Reaves and Alex Caruso, a key player in the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 2025 title-winning team.
