Team USA and Team Europe have quite some time before they come face to face again after their epic clash in Rome.
It was the latter who came out on top in the Italian capital, with Luke Donald guiding his side to a 16½-11½ victory.
The success saw Europe regain the Ryder Cup, with Tommy Fleetwood securing the vital point at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club.
But also playing a crucial role was Ludvig Aberg, who earned himself a Captain’s Pick despite not having been on the scene for very long.
The decision from Donald was, however, immediately justified, with the Swede going on to have a stunning tournament.
His shy nature shocked teammate Matt Fitzpatrick after they met in Rome, but it certainly wasn’t a negative for the player.

Ludvig Aberg wows on Ryder Cup debut
Partnered with Viktor Hovland in Friday morning’s foursomes session, Aberg helped secure a fantastic 4 and 3 win over Max Homa and Brian Harman, with the duo playing their part in a record-breaking start for Europe.
The hosts went 4-0 up for the first time ever, with Aberg and Hovland repeating their success a day later, smashing Brooks Koepka and Scottie Scheffler 9 and 7.
It remains to be seen where Aberg stands in terms of the next Ryder Cup, which will take place at New York’s Bethpage Black in September 2025.
But given his debut display and indeed Donald’s return to the captaincy next time out, the Swede will most certainly be in contention.
Team USA may have their very own Ludvig Aberg
Team USA certainly could have done with a player with Aberg’s ability in Rome, but they may just have one for New York.
It would come in the form of Stanford University’s Michael Thorbjornsen, who has just finished number one in the 2024 PGA Tour University Ranking, as per the official PGA Tour website.
The American has earned PGA Tour membership for the remainder of the 2024 season and 2025 season, and intriguingly follows Aberg as the second player in history to earn such membership via a number one finish in their respective PGA TOUR University classes.
The Swedish star, from Texas Tech University, finished number one in the 2023 PGA Tour University Ranking.
Thorbjornsen, 22, already has big-event experience, having played at the likes of the US Open, RBC Canadian Open and Travelers Championship.
The RBC Canadian Open is incidentally next up in the PGA Tour calendar, with three native players in with a good chance of emerging victorious.
