Scottie Scheffler is the dominant force in golf right now, and two athletes who were at the top of their respective sports have delivered their verdicts on the world number one.

Steph Curry has four NBA Championships to his name, while Peyton Manning is a two-time Super Bowl winner.

So they clearly both know what it takes to reach the top, and their comments on Scheffler make for very interesting reading.

Scheffler has made 55 PGA Tour cuts in a row now, and is widely regarded to be the most consistent golfer on the planet.

He has 15 PGA Tour titles to his name as well as three major championships, all by the age of 28!

The scary thing for his rivals is that he doesn’t seem to be slowing down at all.

Scheffler’s simple approach to the game is what makes him so great, and he approaches every single tournament with the same mindset.

Steph Curry and Peyton Manning on why Scottie Scheffler has dominated

Scheffler went from one PGA Tour win to 13 quicker than any other player in the history of the game.

Now he will be intent on becoming the best to have ever played the game.

Two sporting greats in their own right – Curry and Manning, were at The Memorial Tournament for the Pro-Am on Wednesday.

And they both gave their opinions on Scheffler.

Curry said, I think a lot of it is his mentality. There are a lot of talented golfers out here on tour, and you see week in, week out, somebody gets hot. But his level of his consistency, he seems to just have this knack for being able to answer the moment. I don’t know if you can teach that, you either have it or you don’t. He’s been carrying that for the last three years. I know everybody is gunning for him, he accepts that pressure, and still rises to the occasion. It’s been awesome to watch. He’s been great for the game of golf to have greatness like that, to dominate for a long time and I’m sure he’s not done.

And then Manning delivered his verdict on the world number one.

He said, He’s just so consistent, he hits it the same every single hole, every single swing. And that continuity, obviously you can tell he’s got great confidence because he knows he’s done it, right. He’s done it before and can do it again, so that’s something he can always draw on as well.

What handicaps are Steph Curry and Peyton Manning?

The Golden State Warriors NBA star and the legendary Indianapolis Colts NFL quarterback are both very keen golfers.

Curry is by far the better golfer out of the two, and he currently holds a +1.3 handicap.

He has also played PGA Tour and Korn Ferry Tour events in the past.

Meanwhile, Manning is a 6.4 handicap and holds memberships at Cherry Hills Country Club in Denver and Augusta National.

Both are clearly very driven to get better at the game of golf, and have carried on their mindsets from playing their own sports.

Curry and Manning couldn’t pick a better golfer to learn from than Scheffler, that’s for sure.
