World number one Scottie Scheffler is just relentless right now.
Scheffler won the Memorial Tournament by four strokes on Sunday, and he now has three victories in his last four starts, as well as a tie for fourth.
It wasn’t too long ago when some journalists and golf fans were questioning whether Scheffler would be able to win this season, after a really slow start to 2025.
Those who were questioning the 28-year-old must feel rather silly now.
Jordan Spieth said earlier this week that Scheffler is the best of all-time when it comes to control of his clubface.

And he isn’t wrong there. The sheer consistency that the man from Dallas, Texas, displays week in, week out is truly remarkable.
He has finished inside the top-25 in every single tournament he has played in this season, with nine top-10s to his name as well.
The PGA Tour must be delighted to have a star like Scheffler amongst their ranks.
However, the three-time major champion is actually causing the tour a big problem as well.
Scottie Scheffler is pressuring the PGA Tour to secure a merger with LIV Golf
Numerous high-profile players left the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf back in 2022.
And since then, more big names have followed.
Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm are the biggest stars on LIV’s books right now, and it has to be said that Joaquin Niemann is one of the best golfers in the world right now as well.
It’s just not right that golf fans only get to see those players mentioned above compete with Scheffler four times per year.
It was recently suggested that a merger between the PGA Tour and LIV ‘will never get done’.
And if that really is the case, it will be a real shame.
However, Scheffler’s recent form may well set alarm bells ringing at the PGA Tour headquarters.

Even Jack Nicklaus mentioned after the Memorial Tournament that Scheffler would not have been perturbed by any of the players on the leaderboard.
There is definitely some truth to that, and the more that the world number one dominates, the quicker the PGA Tour may want to get a merger done with LIV in order to maintain the value of their product and brand.
Scheffler tops Data Golf Rankings with LIV players inside the top four
The Official Golf World Rankings are hugely misleading right now, due to the fact that there are no points available for LIV events.
As a result, the Data Golf Ranking model is far better for golf fans to use as a yardstick.
Here is the current top 10 in the world according to Data Golf.
Data Golf Rankings
1. Scottie Scheffler
2. Rory McIlroy
3. Bryson DeChambeau
4. Jon Rahm
5. Justin Thomas
6. Tommy Fleetwood
7. Collin Morikawa
8. Joaquin Niemann
9. Xander Schauffele
10. Sepp Straka
Golf fans deserve to see the likes of DeChambeau and Rahm competing regularly with Scheffler and Rory McIlroy outside of the four major championships.
Scheffler is quite simply not being given the competition that he needs right now.
It sounds strange to say that the game is just too easy for him at the moment, but there’s a genuine case to be made for exactly that being the case.
A merger between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf would be superb for golf fans, and Scheffler would most likely relish the added competition as well.
