It’s no coincidence that Scottie Scheffler has been drawing comparisons with Tiger Woods over the past couple of years.
While some golf fans don’t like to admit it, Scottie Scheffler is producing a level of consistent golf that we haven’t seen since Tiger Woods, and the numbers back that up.
After his win at The Open Championship back in July, Scheffler was compared to Woods by many of his fellow PGA Tour players.
Who is the biggest winner if Tiger Woods never existed?
The 29-year-old world number one currently has 20 PGA Tour wins to his name, including four major championships.
That’s quite a way behind Woods’ tally of 82 PGA Tour victories and 15 majors.
However, all of Scheffler’s wins have come since February 2022. If he is able to maintain his current win-rate, he will be two PGA Tour wins short of Woods’ record by the time he’s 41, and he’ll have more majors to his name than the 50-year-old as well.
Scheffler already has more consecutive top-10 finishes than Woods ever managed on the PGA Tour.
The Dallas native has 18 to his name, while Woods only ever managed 11 at his peak.

Now Scheffler has done something that only Woods has managed to do in the modern era.
Scottie Scheffler equals Tiger Woods’ PGA Tour record after shooting 63 at Pebble Beach
Scheffler began the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in particularly poor form and posted a round of 72 on day one to trail the leaders by 10.
However, in typical Scheffler fashion, he followed that score up with rounds of 66, 67 and 63 to finish in a tie for fourth.
He actually had a real chance to win on Sunday, but Collin Morikawa just did enough to take the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am trophy in the end.
However, despite the fact that the four-time major champion was unable to secure his 21st PGA Tour victory, he still managed to equal a quite incredible record on Sunday.

Scheffler has now recorded eight consecutive top four finishes on the PGA Tour.
That’s something that has only been done twice before in the modern era (since 1986) – both times by Tiger Woods!
Scheffler now has the chance to beat that record this week as the PGA Tour heads to Riviera for the Genesis.
Do you think Scottie Scheffler will beat Tiger Woods’ consecutive cuts record?
He's not even halfway there right now…
The 29-year-old’s game is definitely trending in the right direction after his scintillating final round 63 at Pebble Beach on Sunday.
He will undoubtedly be very tough to beat at Riviera this week.
Scottie Scheffler vs Tiger Woods: Records compared
Scheffler is obviously the best player in the world right now, but he still has a very long way to go to catch Tiger’s numbers.
Here are the records of the two players compared together:
| Results | Scheffler | Woods |
| Majors played | 25 | 95 |
| Major wins | 4 | 15 |
| PGA Tour events played | 153 | 378 |
| PGA Tour wins | 20 | 82 |
| Top-5s | 59 | 163 |
| Top-10s | 79 | 199 |
| Cuts made | 134 | 339 |
By looking at those numbers, it’s clear to see that if Scottie Scheffler remains on his current trajectory, he will come very close to matching Tiger Woods’ records.
The consistently brilliant golf the 29-year-old world number one is producing right now is truly remarkable.
He already has a Hall of Fame career but can he reach the next level and start to challenge Woods’ achievements in the game? It’s highly unlikely, but not impossible.
