We’re a few weeks on now from the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black and one blatant omission from the fallout of the event has been Keegan Bradley’s apparent disappearing act.

Bradley oversaw Team USA’s fightback on the Sunday but it was not enough as Team Europe held firm to make it two on the bounce for Luke Donald.

In the aftermath, Bradley did indeed front up to the media and he had some stern opinions and comments following his team’s loss.

However, since then, Bradley has effectively been silent and that’s left him open to criticism and more importantly, leaving questions unanswered.

Keegan Bradley has to answer big questions after the Ryder Cup

As of now, we’ve heard plenty from the Europeans and Luke Donald has – as expected – done plenty of media.

However, Keegan Bradley has effectively disappeared and while he’s probably having some downtime with the family and a rest, he has left himself wide open for questions when he returns.

There are a number of key points he needs to address as well.

Firstly, he simply has to explain what the Harris English and Collin Morikawa duo was all about. All the data pointed to this not working and so it proved. For Bradley to send them out not once but twice, is bordering on unforgiveable.

Secondly, the format of the event should have been tilted in his favour. Bradley opted to go with the foursomes first and ultimately, it was a move that left the USA scrambling from day one.

Another issue to address and linked to the above was why Bradley allowed Bethpage Black to be so playable and gettable for everyone. The rough wasn’t penal enough, meaning players simply devoured most of the course.

Going further on these issues, Bradley must also surely regret not selecting himself as part of the final 12.

While players like Cam Young and J.J Spaun impressed at times, others flopped and Bradley must be sat thinking ‘what if’?

Finally, and in what has been a major talking point since the tournament, Bradley needs to clarify his comments on the fan behaviour. Bradley suggested things didn’t go too far, a line that is completely opposite to what the European players are saying.

Everyone could see it went too far and people like Nicolas Colsaerts have been left fuming with what happened.

For Bradley to defend, well, it needs some explaining.

Keegan Bradley is delaying the inevitable

This is just like when Rory McIlroy avoided media duties in the season.

All Keegan Bradley is doing is delaying the questions that everyone has on their lips. Next time he is in a tournament, instead of it being about that event, questions will come up about the Ryder Cup.

For Bradley, the smartest move right now might be to get himself on a popular podcast and get all things aired and out in the open in one fell swoop.

If not, then he’s simply leaving himself vulnerable to awkward chats and conversations that in turn will affect his golf game.

Take time off, yes. But avoid media completely for two weeks after a Ryder Cup loss? Well, that’s just bordering on bizarre behaviour from the American.
