You only need to watch two minutes of PGA Tour action to realize that there is no right or wrong way to swing a golf club.
Of course, everyone loves Rory McIlroy’s ‘textbook’ swing, which has all the components that coaches around the world try to teach their students.
But world number one Scottie Scheffler’s unorthodox footwork and PGA Tour legend John Daly’s enormous backswing prove that it’s not so black and white.
Another rising star in professional golf has now started to catch the attention of golf fans due to his eye-catching swing.

Golf fans don’t understand how Jake Knapp’s swing works
Jake Knapp is having an impressive 2025 season on the PGA Tour and is now well inside the top 100 in the Official Golf World Rankings.
He has made the cut in his last seven events, including a tied-12th finish at last week’s Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass.
Knapp deserves praise for his performances but one thing has gotten him more media attention than he probably would have otherwise – his unique swing.
The 30-year-old has one of the most effortless actions on the PGA Tour and it seems impossible that he drives the ball 295.3 yards on average (per pgatour.com).
A fan said: “I’ve watched this Jake Knapp video 1000 times, I am completely mesmerized by it. How does this go 270? Makes no sense.”
Another added: “Like watching Ernie Els. This guy is going to start winning more on tour. Too good of a ball striker not to.”
“So smooth. These guys are unreal,” one wrote. “You could hypnotize someone with that video,” Tweeted someone else.
One said: “Guy has a beautiful golf swing. He probably carried that shot with a 17-degree iron 240 and it rolled out 30 yards. That being said I’m more impressed when he swings like that and it’s 190 ball speed.”
“I know right!! This guy baffles my mind. It seems like I swing twice as hard as him and my ball doesn’t go half as far,” shared another.

Jake Knapp won first PGA Tour event at 2024 Mexico Open
Knapp has one career victory on the PGA Tour and it happened at the 2024 Mexico Open, where he finished two shots ahead of Sami Valimaki.
He only shot an even-par 71 in the final round but that was enough to get over the line due to his exceptional eight-under 63 on Saturday.
He recently spoke to GOLF’s Claire Rogers about how he felt after securing his inaugural victory just over 12 months ago.
“It’s a bit surreal. I’m not a very emotional person but I just wanted to get emotional because you know that everything… like the years and everything leading up to that. It’s all been leading up to that point.
“And it wasn’t one of those where you win and you’re like, ‘oh I guess this is it sort of thing,’ it was definitely one of those where it’s like a big exhale almost when it’s done.”
