Tommy Fleetwood’s agonising wait for a PGA Tour win continues after he once again came up just short at the FedEx St Jude over the weekend.
Fleetwood was in prime position to finally get win number one but once again, the mental block that appears to hinder him so often crept in.
In the end, it was left to his good friend Justin Rose to do the business, as he saw off J.J. Spaun in a tense playoff to win out and seal his Ryder Cup spot alongside Fleetwood.

With the BMW Championship up next, all eyes will be on Fleetwood to see if he can maintain form and get over the line.
As we all know, he failed at The Travelers recently too, allowing Keegan Bradley in for the win. It means it’s now 43 top tens on TOUR for Fleetwood, but still no win.
Indeed, that means he’s now nine ahead of next in line, Brett Quigley when it comes to top tens without a win.

How Brett Quigley went over 400 PGA Tour events without a win
It’s quite the achievement to be a PGA Tour player and amass so many top tens without converting into a win but that’s what Brett Quigley suffered with, just like Tommy Fleetwood.
Over a career spanning more than 400 PGA Tour events, Quigley never once managed to convert.
Quigley finished inside the top 10 a whopping 34 times, finishing runner-up five times (Fleetwood has six) before moving onto the Champions TOUR still in search of that elusive win.
Remarkably, since moving to the Champions TOUR, Quigley has finally found that winning formula.
The now 55-year-old has two wins to his name in 121 events on the senior tour, winning the Morocco Champions event in 2020 and then the Constellation Furyk and Friends tournament in 2023.
Now, as Fleetwood hurtles towards the magic 50 number without a win, it’s starting to make Quigley’s 34 look mediocre.
Brett Quigley’s golf career in numbers
Despite never quite getting the win he wanted, Brett Quigley still made a very successful career out of the game of golf.
He never quite did it in the majors – his best ever finish being a T28 at the 2003 US Open – but he still had a very long career with plenty of positives.
On the PGA Tour, he played 408 events, before adding another 121 so far on the Champions TOUR.
| Total events played | 529 |
| Wins | 2 |
| Runner-up | 7 |
| Top 5 | 32 |
| Top 10 | 60 |
| Total earnings | $15.3 |
Within that, he has 32 top five finishes, amassing over $11m in prize money on the PGA Tour and another $4m+ on the senior side of things.
Sure, those numbers aren’t up there with the riches many others make in the modern era but most people in the world would take $15m in earnings from their job.
