Brooks Koepka makes his long-awaited return to the PGA Tour this week at Torrey Pines in the Farmers Insurance Open.

Koepka controversially left the PGA Tour in order to join LIV Golf back in 2022.

However, after parting ways with LIV in December 2025, Koepka was reinstated as a PGA Tour member in early January.

The 35-year-old clearly wasn’t himself when playing on LIV last season.

Something just didn’t seem right and LIV essentially told Koepka that if he wasn’t happy, then they didn’t want him there.

Now all eyes will be on the five-time major champion as he makes his return to the PGA Tour on Thursday at the Farmers Insurance Open.

However, he certainly doesn’t have the best of memories at Torrey Pines.

Brooks Koepka’s patchy record at the Farmers Insurance Open

Koepka has made four PGA Tour appearances at the famous municipal golf course in the Farmers Insurance Open.

He has missed the cut three times, with his best result being a T-41 in 2015.

The American played in the US Open at Torrey in 2021 and finished in a highly respectable tie for fourth, four shots adrift of eventual champion, Jon Rahm.

He’ll be hoping to replicate the form he showed at the US Open in 2021 this week, rather than what he served up in the regular PGA Tour event which was held there in the same year.

Koepka posted rounds of 72 and 76 to miss the cut by five strokes at Torrey Pines that year.

His missed cut at the Farmers Insurance Open was his third missed cut in a row on the PGA Tour, and the 35-year-old did not take kindly to his poor form.

Koepka snapped TWO FULL sets of irons – one in Mexico in December and one at Torrey Pines two months later.

He won his next start the following week at the Waste Management Phoenix Open but he went through some serious turmoil before triumphing at TPC Scottsdale.

And when speaking to GOLF.com, Koepka explained where his frustrations came from that led to his snapping every single one of his irons after the Farmers Insurance Open in 2021.

“Leading up to it, yeah, I was frustrated,” Koepka said.

“I snapped two sets of irons after playing Mexico and then after Torrey, and I don’t really do that. So there was quite a bit of frustration.”

The Floridian will be hoping for a much smoother ride in San Diego this week.

There is huge excitement surrounding Koepka’s return to PGA Tour action at the Farmers Insurance Open.

However, there is so much pressure on Koepka to perform that he may well struggle at Torrey Pines this week, especially given his career record there.
