Bryson DeChambeau is undoubtedly one of the biggest names in the world when it comes to our beloved game of golf.

DeChambeau is now a two-time major champion and while he’s over on the LIV Golf tour, he very much remains a golfer most would love to see back on the PGA Tour.

Furthermore, the American’s popularity has soared in recent years. DeChambeau’s YouTube and social media profiles have blown up enormously and he’s shown a lighter side to his character along the way.

Do you think LIV Golf players should be allowed to participate at the Ryder Cup moving forward?

Nevertheless, beyond that fun demeanour remains a golfer who is intent on winning and being the best.

And looking back at what he said in 2016, DeChambeau has very much carried that thought process through into 2025.

Bryson DeChambeau’s 2016 comments still hold fast in 2025

All of us who have watched Bryson DeChambeau over the years will have had moments where we perhaps warmed to him and then cooled off.

Such is his personality and how he goes about the game of golf, not to mention his move to LIV, that he’s naturally a polarising character at times.

However, one thing not to be denied is how hard he works at the game of golf. And back in 2016, he made it very clear how dedicated he was.

“If I wanted to learn Arabic or Russian, I could. Or tie my shoes in a new way, I could. Why? Dedication,” he told Golf Digest in 2016.

“I’m not really smart, but I’m dedicated. I can be good at anything if I love it and dedicate myself. And I love history. I love science. I love music. I love golf. I love learning. I love life. I love trying to be the best at anything and everything.”

Bryson DeChambeau’s PGA Tour record since 2016 comments

DeChambeau’s career is a huge success. He could stop playing golf right now and look back on a career that had plenty of achievements and of course, plenty of dollars made.

However, he won’t be stopping anytime soon and since the above comments in ’16, he has been on a pretty much constant upward trajectory.

He won his first PGA Tour event in 2017 before winning four times in 2018 to truly announce himself.

How many questions did you get right in this golf quiz?

2020 saw him bag the US Open and another win, while 2021 saw him win the prestigious Arnold Palmer Invitational.

After that, DeChambeau’s move to LIV Golf dominated proceedings but in 2024, he bounced back and won the US Open again, making it nine PGA Tour wins overall and 14 for his career.

2025 saw him win his first LIV Golf event for two years, and going into 2026, DeChambeau will very much be one of the most in-demand golfers in the world in terms of media coverage.
