Jim Furyk endured a roller-coaster experience at the FedExCup Playoffs back in 2010, which involved being disqualified in the very first event.
Still in its early stages then, the PGA Tour season-ending Playoffs featured four tournaments; The Barclays, the Deutsche Bank Championship, the BMW Championship and The Tour Championship.
And Furyk found himself among the main candidates to clinch the FedExCup in its fourth year, having ended the regular season rankings in third place.
But major doubt was cast over such contention at The Barclays, as the American started in the worst possible way.

The reason Jim Furyk was disqualified from the 2010 FedExCup Playoffs opener
Furyk overslept on the day of the pro-am after his alarm clock lost power overnight, resulting in the veteran being late for his tee-time.
PGA Tour officials followed protocol and disqualified him from the first event, which was eventually won by his compatriot Matt Kuchar.
Furyk dropped from third to eighth in the standings after the mishap, and entered the Tour Championship in 11th after T37 and T15 finishes at the Deutsche Bank and BMW Championship respectively.

The drama was far from over as the players headed to East Lake for the Tour Championship, which Furyk needed to win to clinch the ultimate prize.
Remarkably, he did exactly that, going up and down from a greenside bunker on the 18th to clinch The Tour Championship.
It also resulted in the FedExCup going his way, with Furyk following in the footsteps of previous champions Tiger Woods (2) and Vijay Singh.
Furyk also earned a huge $11.35 million for his efforts; $1.35million for The Tour Championship and $10million for the FedExCup.
