With Scottie Scheffler not at his best and Rory McIlroy no longer having to worry about completing the Career Grand Slam, there seems to be a real opportunity for one of LIV Golf’s biggest stars to win The Masters this year.
Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm are undoubtedly among the favourites to triumph at Augusta National over the coming days.

Rahm won The Masters in 2023. Meanwhile, there is an argument to be made that he has been the best golfer on the planet over the first few months of 2026.
He has finished inside the top two four times in five starts this year. His worst finish was fifth place in Singapore.
Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau are two players to watch at The Masters
DeChambeau is giving him a run for his money. The American has won the last two LIV Golf events, with his most recent victory seeing him defeat Rahm in a playoff in South Africa.
DeChambeau is also getting better and better at Augusta National. He was at least tied for the lead after the first two rounds in 2024, while he was in the final group on Sunday 12 months ago.
Of course, the day did not go how the Crushers captain would have hoped.
With question marks hanging over Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, DeChambeau has perhaps never had a better chance of finally winning The Masters.
Similarly, Rahm has potentially never been better since his move to LIV. A second Green Jacket seems entirely possible.
With that, those at LIV Golf may be feeling some pressure.
The move to 72 hole events seems to have been a smart one. But this is the first opportunity for the likes of Rahm and DeChambeau to face the rest of the best players in the world this year.
Should LIV’s biggest stars fail to contend at Augusta over the coming days, it will be a big blow to the league.
LIV Golf is still fighting for credibility heading into The Masters
It is still yet to be determined just how helpful or harmful playing on LIV is for those who have the talent to win majors.
There have been just two players who have won a major while on LIV. The league does appear to have some momentum now after the likes of DeChambeau and Rahm declined the chance to follow Brooks Koepka and return to the PGA Tour.
And it definitely helps the league to have their two biggest stars battling it out most weeks.
But the narrative that playing on LIV hurts players will become much more difficult to ignore if those same star players cannot put themselves in the mix at The Masters.
Rightly or wrongly, LIV players still have a big point to prove. The league could definitely do with Rahm and DeChambeau stepping up.
