The PGA Tour is quite clearly the place to play golf, if you’re an aspiring youngster with dreams of reaching the very highest level.
Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy have been the dominant figures on the PGA Tour over the past few years.
However, the challenge for the American and the Northern Irishman will be to maintain that dominance with so many talented youngsters coming onto the scene.
There are many exciting names set to hit the PGA Tour in 2026.
Who do you think could be the PGA Tour’s breakout star of 2026?
There are plenty of hugely talented young players…
We really could be in for one of the most exciting PGA Tour seasons of all time.
However, which players could emerge and challenge the biggest names on the PGA Tour in 2026 and beyond?
Three breakout stars ready to take the PGA Tour by storm in 2026
It is incredibly difficult to narrow down the potential breakout stars for 2026 to just three players.
However, we believe that the three players listed below have something ‘extra special’ about them.
Marco Penge
The 27-year-old proved just how much quality he has on the DP World Tour in 2025, with three wins to his name.
Marco Penge is arguably the longest hitter in the game right now and regularly cruises over a 190 mph ball speed off the tee.
On paper, he’s perfectly suited to 90 per cent of PGA Tour venues, what with his explosive power off the tee.
Will he be able to cope with the added pressure of playing on the PGA Tour, though? Only time will tell in that regard.
Michael Thorbjornsen
The 24-year-old American is another player who possesses prodigious power.

He recorded four top-5 finishes in 26 events during the 2025 PGA Tour season and he has all of the skills required to win the very biggest tournaments.
Michael Thorbjornsen may have to refine his iron play and putting if he is to actually get over the line with his first win, but he is certainly not shy of putting in the hours on the practice ground.
He will definitely be one to watch in 2026.
Michael Brennan
The 23-year-old is arguably the hottest property on the PGA Tour right now.
Michael Brennan won on his first ever PGA Tour start at the Bank of Utah Championship in 2025.
His effortless power and solid short game mean that he’s primed to go on and add to his trophy cabinet in 2026 and beyond.
Brennan has all of the tools required to succeed at the very highest level.
As he adds more experience through playing regularly, he could well be a top-10 ranked player in the making.
A special mention for Kristoffer Reitan as well. The 27-year-old earned his PGA Tour card for 2026 through his impressive showings on the DP World Tour in 2025.
The Norwegian has real talent and he may take a few people by surprise this year.
Bright future ahead for the PGA Tour
The future is extremely bright for the PGA Tour, there is no doubt about that.
What’s the biggest mistake you’ve ever seen a player make at a major?
Jackson Koivun is another superstar of the future, but he will be paying college golf in 2026.
Meanwhile, big things are expected of Luke Clanton, with the 22-year-old ready to take his game to another level in 2026.
While Scheffler and McIlroy are clearly on another level entirely to all of those players mentioned above, they will need to work as hard as ever to remain ahead of the curve.
Professional golf is extremely unforgiving at the very highest level and if any of the current PGA Tour’s biggest stars drop their levels even slightly, there will be someone ready to take their place at the top table.
The likes of Penge, Thorbjornsen, Brennan and many more will all be chomping at the bit to get up and running in 2026.
