If it had not been Anthony Kim who came through to win LIV Golf Adelaide on Sunday, Bryson DeChambeau’s performance in the final round at The Grange would come under much greater scrutiny.
Bryson DeChambeau started the last round at LIV Golf Adelaide tied for the lead with Jon Rahm. However, his hopes of victory were dashed within the first seven holes as he made four bogeys.
Who is the biggest winner if Tiger Woods never existed?
Anthony Kim beat DeChambeau by 11 shots in the final round.
It is not the first time that DeChambeau has taken himself completely out of the mix in what appeared to be a two-horse race.
The Masters mistake Bryson DeChambeau repeated at LIV Golf Adelaide
Many will remember how mouthwatering the final round of The Masters in 2025 looked set to be. Rory McIlroy was two shots clear of DeChambeau, who was, in turn, two ahead of Corey Conners.
DeChambeau seemingly made no secret of his belief that the winner would come from the last pairing.
He would, of course, be correct. However, DeChambeau’s chances of winning a first Green Jacket were dashed by the 12th tee.
He went on to leave Amen Corner at four over par for the day.

Admittedly, the advantage DeChambeau and Rahm had over the field was much larger on Sunday. Nevertheless, the Crushers captain may be kicking himself for seemingly falling into the same trap of thinking that only two players could win in Australia.
“Well, I wish I would have played him or Rory, but it didn’t happen,” he said on Saturday when asked if the fight with Rahm could resemble the Sunday singles at the Ryder Cup.
“But I think, yeah, it’s going to be a good battle tomorrow. We’re going to have some fun. We’re going to hit some good golf shots, hopefully hit more fairways. Other than that, it’s going to be a lot of fun tomorrow. Going to give it all we have.”
It seems that no one gave Kim a shot at winning, except Kim himself.
DeChambeau, meanwhile, must wonder if he has a problem developing when it comes to an apparent showdown with one other player.
Bryson DeChambeau’s final round performances are becoming a real concern
Of course, the greatest win of DeChambeau’s career to date came when it really felt as though there was only him and Rory McIlroy on the course at the 2024 US Open.
But the 32-year-old’s form since then has not been overly impressive for a player of his calibre. He has just one LIV victory since the start of the 2024 season.
And his performances in the final round may actually be a bigger concern than his struggles in a shootout with one other player.
Since the start of the 2025 season, DeChambeau has failed to break par in 11 different rounds on LIV. Six of those have come in the final rounds of events, including on Sunday in Adelaide.
And when you factor in that his last round at Augusta National last year was at least six shots worse than any of the previous three, DeChambeau arguably has plenty of reason to be concerned.
