The PGA Tour is back with a bang as a long list of the world’s top players head to Hawaii for The Sentry.
Xander Schauffele is the favourite for The Sentry, with the world number two the highest-ranked player at the Plantation Course at Kapalua.
It comes after world number one Scottie Scheffler withdrew from the 2025 PGA Tour opener due to injury.
But a strong field remains at the Plantation Course at Kapalua, with Schauffele joined by the likes of Justin Thomas and Collin Morikawa.
Schauffele wants to improve his wedge play going forward, with the American now looking to follow up on his 2019 win at The Sentry.

What Xander Schauffele thinks of Kapalua after practice rounds ahead of The Sentry
He tied the course record with a superb 11-under 62 on the Sunday back then, winning the event by one shot ahead of Gary Woodland.
The 2019 champion has now shared his thoughts on the course this time around, saying in his pre-tournament press conference: “Yeah, it’s really green.
“I heard Troon likes it really green and lush, and that’s exactly what it is. The course is in the best condition that I’ve ever seen it in.
“A little bit of rain’s made it a bit soft, but hopefully the wind sort of picks up and the balls start to roll into those spots you don’t like ’em rolling in, and it will make the tournament a little bit harder.”

How Xander Schauffele feels heading into the 2025 PGA Tour season
Schauffele is unsurprisingly confident going into 2025 following his superb 2024 season, with his PGA Tour career wins tally now approaching double figures.
The American now has nine titles to his name after adding two last time out, which involved his first major wins at the PGA Championship and The Open Championship.
But he is still looking to improve given the level of competition on tour, with last season’s seven-time Scheffler undoubtedly the man to beat.
Schauffele has now shared exactly what his latest off-season looked like and indeed how he feels going into the new campaign.
“Some of the same stuff,” he said when asked what he has worked on. “I would say everything I was working on with Chris last year is still not… it feels like my swing, but it’s still something that’s a little bit uncomfortable.
“As long as I’m producing good shots I feel the confidence to keep moving in the right direction, and obviously got a lot of confidence after some results last year.
“But some of the same stuff, getting the club in certain positions and trying to move the correct way, so a lot of the same, to be honest.”
