Will Zalatoris has endured a terribly difficult past 18 months or so.
Zalatoris has just three top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour to his name since the beginning of the 2024 season.
The 28-year-old has been plagued by back injuries for nearly two years now, and he underwent surgery in May to fix two herniated discs.
He is now on the road to recovery and going through the extremely slow and painful rehabilitation process.
Zalatoris bulked up before the start of the 2025 PGA Tour season, in order to provide more support for his back.
However, that clearly didn’t help him. Hopefully the one-time PGA Tour winner bounces back from surgery stronger than he was before.
Because on his day, he’s an exceptional golfer who’s capable of winning multiple major championships.
Will Zalatoris confirms his handicap when he plays away from the PGA Tour
‘These guys are good’, that’s what they say about PGA Tour players right?

The thing is, most amateur players do not realise just how good they are.
Zalatoris certainly fits into that category. He spoke to Skratch and responded when asked how many hole in ones he has had and what his career low round is.
The 28-year-old answered 10 and 59 respectively to those questions.
He also opened up on what his actual handicap is when he plays at home with friends.
Zalatoris said: “Plus 6.8 and it is legit because I turn it every tournament round and every nine hole screw round that I play.
“If I go out and go play somebody and they’re like ‘come on, you’re like a plus eight’, I’m like this is legit and yours is not if we go out there and you beat me 10 times in a row!“
Will Zalatoris’ career record on the PGA Tour
Zalatoris has contended in numerous majors since he joined the PGA Tour.
However, he’s never managed to get over the line in one of the four biggest tournaments in professional golf.
Here is how his career stats on the PGA Tour look:
| Results | Zalatoris’ finishes |
| Events played | 98 |
| Wins | 1 |
| Runner-up | 5 |
| Top-5s | 12 |
| Top-10s | 21 |
| Missed cuts | 27 |
When Zalatoris is fully recovered, he will be hoping to start winning on a more consistent basis.
And who knows, maybe his handicap will come down from +6.8 as well!
