Ever since reports that the PGA of America were due to pay its players for the upcoming Ryder Cup, there has been a continuous fallout as we await an official announcement.
While it’s widely expected that Team USA will each receive $400,00 to play, nothing has officially come from the PGA of America to confirm.
That hasn’t stopped the chatter, though.
There’s been so much said, with Tiger Woods encouraging charitable payments, while those on Team Europe have outright come out against the idea of money being on offer.
However, while we await confirmation, it seems that there might actually be a good reason behind it.

PGA of America’s delay in Ryder Cup announcement explained
Reports are claiming that a group of 12 former captains have asked the PGA of America to think harder and potentially reverse this decision on payments to players.
But according to reports from Sports Illustrated, there is a good reason behind the silence.
The reports from Sports Illustrated claims that the PGA of America is ‘in the midst of appointing a new chief executive after the June 30 departure of Seth Waugh and that decision is likely part of the delay in any resolution.’
Commenting on that issue, one of the captain’s to sign the 12-man letter has expressed their concern.
“Whatever they do, they have to get this resolved and get it behind us.”
Team Europe will use payments row as fuel to win at Bethpage Black
While the Americans squabble about $400,000 each and what might happen with it, the Europeans are going about their business as usual and will be looking on with a wry smile from afar.
For Team Europe, this is the sort of fuel they can use to go to America and pull off an almighty win to bring the trophy home with them again.
The likes of Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm and even Tyrrell Hatton, thrive of any sort of minor percentage they can get over the opposition.
Rest assured, if this is still hanging over Team USA going into the summer months, then Team Europe will draw strength from the divide.
