The Q at Myrtle Beach took place on Monday, featuring 16 different content creators battling it out for a spot on the PGA Tour.

The world of golf has entered into a whole new era over the past couple of years, with content creators gaining more of a presence in the golfing landscape with every week that passes.

Whether you like ‘YouTube golf’ or not, everyone has to move with the times in the end, and the bottom line is that it is actually a huge deal now, certainly as far as the younger generation are concerned.

The likes of Peter Finch, Kyle Berkshire, Fat Perez and Micah Morris all had the chance to earn a spot on the PGA Tour for this week’s Oneflight Myrtle Beach Classic.

There are many golf fans who don’t agree with a content creator taking up a spot on a PGA Tour event.

But if it attracts new viewers to the sport, then what harm can it really do?

Golf fans were upset about how poor the coverage of The Q at Myrtle beach was last year, but the same criticism can’t be aimed at the PGA Tour this time around.

Nathan Franks won the event in the end after shooting a round of three-under-par 69 , and earned a spot at this week’s Oneflight Myrtle Beach Classic, which is operating opposite the Truist Championship – a Signature Event.

Sean Walsh shot a level par 72 whilst George Bryan signed for a two-over-par 74.

But where did the other big names finish?

Finch came in with a respectable four-over-par 76, whilst Morris carded a 77.

Berkshire shot a fairly disappointing six-over-par 78 whilst Perez propped up the field with a horrendous 17-over-par 89.

There are some pretty poor scores there, but some fairly respectable ones as well.

Who is Nathan Franks, the winner of The Q at Myrtle Beach?

Franks, 22, is now a senior at University of South Carolina.

He is currently ranked as the 82nd best amateur golfer in the world, so he clearly has a bright future ahead of him in the game.

The 22-year-old has six top-10 finishes in US Collegiate tournaments since February 2024, including two wins at the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate and the Schenkel Invitational.

Franks will now be playing on the PGA Tour at this week’s Oneflight Myrtle Beach Classic.

And it will be very interesting indeed to see how he gets on.
