Many would consider Tiger Woods the best player to ever swing a golf club but it seems even the best to ever do it find faults in their games.
Woods has won 15 majors, more PGA Tour events than anyone else ever, and has transcended golf in a way not seen across many other sports.
Few players have done what Woods has done in the game although Scottie Scheffler runs Tiger close when it comes to their best ever years on TOUR.
Still, not everything is perfect for Woods and according to the man himself, he’s actually really bad at one aspect of the game.

Tiger Woods says he’s ‘terrible’ in one part of his golf game
Speaking on a video for TaylorMade back in 2021, Woods was giving an exhibition in iron play.
However, Woods also admitted that he’s not quite perfect and actually conceded that he has a real problem with generating spin on the ball.
“As I got into my teens is when my iron game started to become a lot better. Because I started slowing things down and I started matching things up and then from there I got dialled in in the early 2000s which was pretty good,” Woods revealed.
“It was one of those things where if we had a day like today, as windy as it is, there’s no way I’d be able to get a 7-iron that far. 160 yards would be some kind of 5-iron, because the golf ball would spin so much.
“But it allowed me to really understand to slow things down as the golf balls got harder, I maintained the spiniest ball on the market cos I’ve always been good at taking spin off the golf ball. I’m terrible at putting spin on the golf ball.”
Is Tiger Woods the best iron player of all time?
Despite his modesty here, Tiger Woods definitely ranks in and among the best around when it comes to all elements of golf.
However, while he is among the best in iron play, not everyone considers him the number one.
Indeed, an article from Golf Digest back in 2012 ranked Rory McIlroy as the best modern iron player, while Ben Hogan was given the title of best of all time.
A report from Golf Monthly also ranked Woods in the top 32 of all time but again, put the likes of Hogan and others ahead of him.
Still, it’s not been a bad career for Woods and the idea him of actually being happy with his iron play is quite a scary thought.
