Jordan Spieth is set to miss the 2025 Arnold Palmer Invitational after he wasn’t given a sponsors’ invite for the Bay Hill event.

Spieth and Rickie Fowler were both left off the exemption list. Puerto Rican Rafael Campos is one of the names definitely invited.

Fowler, in particular, is closely affiliated with the event and was an unofficial tournament ambassador. Spieth, however, only made his first appearance in 2021.

Spieth played alongside Bryson DeChambeau four years ago and watched on as the now LIV Golf star won whilst adopting an extremely aggressive big-hitting approach.

With Spieth returning from wrist surgery and in relatively good form, the former world number one will no doubt be disappointed to miss the fourth Signature Event of the season.

In fact, in 2021, Spieth explained why the Arnold Palmer Invitational was not previously part of his PGA Tour schedule.

“I’ve never played here, and I haven’t played Honda before, and both courses, when I’ve watched over the years, I love Bermuda, I love windy conditions, difficult golf courses and they just, because of the West Coast Swing, into the World Golf Championships and then into the Texas events, into the Masters, it’s just, you got to take a week off here or there sometimes,” Spieth during his pre-tournament press conference.

“And this year, without being in last week, I thought this week would be a really good opportunity to play a difficult golf course. And honestly, I haven’t had much success at The Players Championship, so being able to get some reps and continue trying to work hard on the game leading into The Players could really help next week as well.”

“So I saw it as kind of a win-win. It was nice to actually probably have a break after four weeks on the West Coast and then work our way now into this spring stretch that leads into THE PLAYERS and then into Augusta.”

Jordan Spieth’s record at the Arnold Palmer Invitational

Spieth finished tied fourth in his first outing at Bay Hill. The three-time major winner carded rounds of 70-69-68-75. Despite falling out of contention on Sunday, Spieth still earned over $300,000.

The American skipped the 2022 edition before returning to Bay Hill in 2023 for his second appearance. Spieth once again finished tied fourth (seven under).

Spieth’s last outing at Bay Hill was twelve months ago when he tied for 30th. The 2024 Arnold Palmer Invitational was the start of Scottie Scheffler’s remarkable stretch of golf, which saw the two-time Masters champ earn over $60m on the PGA Tour.

The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass will likely be the next time the golfing world gets to see Spieth in action.
