Rahm has accrued fines from the DP World Tour after deciding to join LIV Golf in December 2023. As things stand, both Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton are appealing the fines.
It is expected that they will lose the appeal. With that, they will either have to pay the fines or they will lose their memberships on the European tour.
And obviously, if they are no longer members of the DP World Tour, they will not be able to play in the Ryder Cup.
It certainly appears that there is little love lost between Rahm and the DP World Tour at this stage.
According to a report from The Telegraph, one insider has claimed that Rahm believes the tour are lucky that he wants to play in their events at all.
Rahm appears to have run out of patience with the DP World Tour
Rahm definitely seemed to send a message to those at Wentworth late last year. He played in both the BMW PGA Championship and Open de Espana.
However, he was nowhere to be seen during the final two events of the season, including the DP World Tour Championship.
He confirmed after finishing tied for ninth in Madrid that he was not planning to play another tournament until LIV Golf Riyadh at the start of 2026.

It is going to be fascinating to see what happens should Rahm and Hatton lose their appeals.
From the outside, there appears to be little chance of the two players not teeing it up at Adare Manor.
You would think that a deal will be struck between the DP World Tour and LIV Golf that keeps that door open. And it helps that there is no Ryder Cup this year.
But it is certainly a messy situation that all sides could probably do without.
