Bryson DeChambeau is one of the heavy favourites to win the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow this week, with very few players showing better form across the major championships over the last 18 months.
With Quail Hollow set to play extremely long this week due to the poor weather, Bryson DeChambeau could have a real advantage over the majority of the field at the PGA Championship.
The 31-year-old also has a point to prove. He fell away during the final round at The Masters. And DeChambeau came in for criticism for seeming annoyed at Rory McIlroy not talking to him on Sunday at Augusta National.
When DeChambeau finished second at the PGA Championship 12 months ago, he followed that by winning the US Open in the next major. So that disappointment at The Masters may well fuel the LIV Golf star.
What Bryson DeChambeau shot in a practice round at the PGA Championship
DeChambeau also goes into the second major of the year off the back of a victory at LIV Golf Korea. It was a victory which had been coming after he had also had the lead in Miami and Mexico City.

But it seems that he was not entirely happy with his practice at Quail Hollow. DeChambeau posted a video on social media showing nine holes around the North Carolina course.
After ending up with one birdie, one bogey and seven pars, DeChambeau simply said: ‘even par, time to get a new job’.
How DeChambeau performed in his practice round at Quail Hollow
Obviously, DeChambeau would not have played with the intensity that he will have on Thursday. And he probably would not have posted a video had he shot five under par over nine holes because that would have only set him up for a fall.
But based on the video, it will be a little concerning that DeChambeau made a few mistakes on the green. He did not hole anything of length, while he seemed to hit a really poor putt on the third hole where he made a bogey.
DeChambeau leaves absolutely no stone unturned in his preparations. So it would be no surprise to see him hitting the ground running during the opening round.
