Tommy Fleetwood can finally be called a PGA Tour winner after his dominant victory at the Tour Championship.
Fleetwood won the Tour Championship by a three-stroke margin in the end, and the ease with which he got the job done defied the fact that he was without a win on the PGA Tour before his final round at East lake.
The 34-year-old Englishman was in complete control of his golf ball throughout the entire week.
So much so that Fleetwood wasn’t worried about what Scottie Scheffler was doing at the Tour Championship.
You would be hard pressed to think of a more popular winner on the PGA Tour this season than the European Ryder Cup star.
It was clear to see during the Tour Championship that Fleetwood is a hugely popular player.
The support that he received whilst coming up against some of America’s biggest stars was truly remarkable.
What LIV players said about Tommy Fleetwood before Tour Championship final round
Claude Harmon is one of the finest coaches in the game, and he has pros on both the PGA Tour and LIV Golf amongst his stable.
Harmon was in Michigan for the LIV Team Championship last week, while the PGA Tour players were competing at East Lake.

And Harmon opened up on what all of the players on LIV were saying about Fleetwood over breakfast ahead of the final round of the Tour Championship.
He said: “You know, it’s funny, the Tour were in the middle of the FedEx, three in a row, the LIV guys were in the middle of their last three tournaments in a row, so everybody was watching.
“Like you said, he’s the type of player that all the other players are watching, right?
“In the morning at breakfast all of the LIV guys were going, ‘dude, he’s got to get it done’, they wanted him to get it done.“
That goes to show just how popular Fleetwood is amongst his peers.
Butch Harmon shares what the American players he coaches told him about Tommy Fleetwood
It goes without saying that Butch Harmon is one of the most famous golf coaches in the world, if not the most famous.
He has worked with some of the greatest players of all time including Tiger Woods, Greg Norman and Phil Mickelson.
Harmon was speaking alongside his son, Claude, when he revealed what some of the American players he coaches told him about Fleetwood after his victory in Atlanta last week.
He said: “I’ve had some really nice text messages from my American players that I work with through the past and them talking about how happy they were for him getting that monkey off his back.
“Now he doesn’t have to answer that question. He’s still going to have to answer the question, ‘best player to never win a major’, that will be the next one they get on him with. But don’t worry, he can handle that pressure now and I think you’ll see him win a major next year for sure.“
A major win surely lies in the very near future for Fleetwood, after he proved that he can beat the very best players in the world at the Tour Championship.
Now the challenge for him will be to emulate the form he showed at East Lake on a consistent basis in 2026 and onwards.
