After some of the scores posted at East Lake during round one of the Tour Championship, you could be forgiven for thinking that the golf course is fairly easy.

The Tour Championship is the PGA Tour‘s season finale, with the winner of the FedEx Cup being crowned at East Lake.

Russell Henley leads this year’s edition of the Tour Championship after his opening round 61, while Scottie Scheffler is firmly in his rearview mirror following a seven-under par 63.

The PGA Tour implemented preferred lies for the first round at East Lake after the deluge of rain that had fallen on the golf course.

And when the best players in the world have the golf ball in hand, they can go seriously low, regardless of how long the golf course they are playing is.

However, how did a selection of really good amateurs fare when playing East Lake the day before the Tour Championship began?

What Peter Finch shot at East Lake the day before the Tour Championship

Peter Finch is one of the better handicappers out of all the YouTube content creators out there.

He plays off a handicap of +4.1 right now and has achieved a lot of success throughout the summer.

Finch made it to the final stages of Open Qualifying in July, but he just came up short in the end.

Many expected him to shoot a decent score at East Lake on Wednesday during the Creator Classic.

However, the Englishman really struggled, shooting +8.

What makes his score even worse is the fact that the tournament was played over only eight holes, with the top four qualifying for a sudden-death playoff on the 18th hole at East Lake.

Finch would have been hugely disappointed with his performance in Atalanta on Wednesday.

While Finch has real problems getting around the back nine at East Lake, there were plenty of players who actually performed very well indeed.

Brad Dalke, a University of Oklahoma graduate, shot a mightily impressive round of two-under par.

He pipped Luke Kwon, Sean Walsh and Micah Morris to the Creator Classic title in the end.

Micah Morris+2

After his victory, Dalke spoke to the media.

He said: Feels awesome to win, haven’t won an individual competitive golf tournament in a long time, felt the nerves coming down the stretch.

Proud of myself for how I handled the pressure, and I was able to make a winning putt at East Lake.

Dalke is a professional golfer and, who knows, perhaps he will be playing at East Lake once again, but on a Thursday instead.
